Condition 1 was founded in 2008 in Sherman, Texas. The name was born from the firearm conditions of readiness “Condition 1” meaning; a round chambered, full magazine in place, hammer cocked, safety on. Also referred to as “cocked and locked”. We use it as our brand name for a line of quality products meant to protect a wide variety of items. If you’ve got something that needs a second skin, our products protect yours so that you can worry about the adventure, journey, or job at hand. Not about your gear. Currently we have over 250,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space in North Texas where we design, manufacture and ship our product from.

To truly understand the origin of the company you have to go back to the Hungary Revolution of 1956. Zoltan Pocza fled Hungary with his family when he was 5 years old and settled in South Bend, Indiana. At 15 years old he got his first job at a local sewing factory where he met his future wife, a Texas native. The mild climate and strong economy attracted them to later move to her hometown of Sherman, Texas. This was just down the road from the birthplace of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President who helped make the Pocza’s American life possible. In 1982, Zoltan Pocza incorporated Royal Case Company in Sherman, Texas. Royal Case is a domestic and international OEM manufacturer of custom carrying cases, bags and holsters. Through decades of experience Zoltan Pocza was exposed to thousands of engineering and design solutions as well as different manufacturing methods. The knowledge gained during this time period led to the natural evolution of incorporating another company and starting our own brand name, Condition 1.
